Membership

Become a member of the Business Leadership Forum.

Working membership makes you a partner in the Forum's mission: empowering entrepreneurs, supporting small and medium enterprises, and connecting Syrian business with markets and with Syrian expertise in the diaspora — with a voice in the Forum's General Assembly.

What membership means

Under the bylaws and the membership regulation, applicants submit a written application, the Board of Directors decides on it, and accepted members are entered in the Forum's members register.

Working members form the General Assembly: the Forum's highest authority, which elects the board and approves the budget and audited accounts.

Member rights

  • Attend and vote in General Assembly meetings.
  • Stand for election to the Board of Directors, subject to the conditions.
  • Access annual reports and audited accounts.

Member duties

  • Abide by the bylaws, regulations, code of conduct, and conflict-of-interest policy.
  • Never use the Forum's name, or one's position in it, for personal gain or any political purpose.
  • Pay membership dues on time, if the General Assembly adopts them.

Who can apply?

Applications are considered against the membership conditions in the bylaws and the membership regulation, including: full legal capacity, good standing, and having no interest or activity that conflicts with the Forum's objectives and its non-political character. The Board of Directors decides each application at its discretion.
